I know these messages don't write themselves. Thank you
Father Murray. I'll try to keep this short tonight. We got back from the
Ballroom shortly after 12:00--so here I am. I'd like to bring you up-to-date
on what is happening.
I met with David again today. He wants to recruit some
show business people who live in and around the Town. He thought I would
know some people. I do. I promised I would round up some of them for David's
stage production. That will happen in the next few days.
David wanted me to give some talks or lectures on what
the newcomers can expect in the next while. I told him that I was flattered,
but there are others better qualified. David said that many of the group
(the 9-11s) were getting anxious about the future and what is expected
of them. Most don't know what to do. Problems that didn't seem important
at first are getting bigger and aren't going away. I remember Elvis telling
me about the seventh month problem. I remember what to do and will pass
it on. Several 9-11s are actively looking for answers in Town. They have
checked into the Infirmary then checked out shortly after because the Infirmary
doesn't have psychiatrists or counselors on staff. Dr. Yes* has been to
the Village to help, but he is only one person. By the time he gets to
the last person, the first person he treated will have forgotten. They
need help. I don't think me lecturing is going to help anybody. Beside
that, I don't know the future.
Do you remember me telling you about the poker game? The
games are still being played. The players have changed, but there are a
few reserved signs on the tables. When I joined in, I didn't know I was
in a tournament. I noticed my rank today. I rank at 36 out of 40 players.
I think numbers 37, 38 and 39 haven't shown up yet. They have the chart
on the wall. Yep, I'm at the bottom. I played badly. I wanted to talk,
but they didn't. No new introductions tonight. I just didn't have time
to round up people. I didn't even see Christiana.
I'll talk to you again soon.
Love and peace, Mike.
