I'll bring you up-to-date on the 9-11 group. They
have settled into an area just outside the Town. I did
go and see their village last Tuesday. They wanted to have a mix of housing
and that is exactly what they have. Most houses are only two stories. There
are some condominiums mixed in with Florida type buildings. The Florida
styles have a red tile roof with large overhangs. I think they are modeled
after someone's own home. I was just told by Pemby that this type of building
is not Floridian, but Spanish Andalusian. I think there are about thirty
different buildings now with over 300 people in the Village. They said
that they will elect a mayor if that is the right thing to do.
The dining room where you (referring to Robert Murray's dream
in the previous message) met these people is there. It is over a bowling
alley. It does have an elevator that goes to the second floor. The building
is two stories. I looked at the dining room. It is well designed and spacious.
It isn't a restaurant, but a dining room for the group. They use it as
a meeting hall, a nondenominational church, a worship center for all faiths,
and a place to eat and sing. They are very big on singing. Most of the
people I have talked to say that there is great healing power in music
and singing. They have music as part of their recovery program.
Since there aren't many children in that village, I suggested that some
of them might be interested in visiting the D.R., the 3 C and the other
camps and ranches. They promised that the information would be passed on.
So that's about it for now.
